This holistic approach incorporates a broad range of physical and physiological therapeutic interventions and aids.

Clinical Pilates

Physio Collective Station Square is pleased to announce that we will be offering Clinical Pilates to our valued clients.

Clinical Pilates is a tool under the branch of Physiotherapy to aid in active physical rehabilitation with an emphasis on core stability and strength, mobility, postural control and cardiovascular training. Sessions are performed on a reformer and tailored to an individual based on their specific needs and goals.

During your first session you will be assessed by a Physiotherapist to evaluate your current function, and your individual needs and goals. After that, you will work with a Kinesiologist, one-on-one, to meet your goals through a progressive exercise plan on the reformer.

Why is Clinical Pilates beneficial? It’s low impact, joint friendly, improves mobility, aids in muscle recovery, supports performance, improves core stability and strength, and can improve pelvic stability specifically for pre and postnatal clients.

Kinesiology

Kinesiologists apply strength and conditioning, functional rehabilitation, therapeutic exercise, and biomechanics to treat, prevent and manage pain and/or injury.

Our main goal is to help you return to function through active rehabilitation and education. When a Kinesiologist can benefit you: whiplash, back pain, postural correction, deconditioning after an injury, pre/postnatal training, repetitive strain injuries, work related injuries/pain, core stability program, conditioning and weight loss, enhanced sport performance, stress and other psychological issues.

Massage (RMT)

Registered Massage Therapy is the assessment of soft tissue and joints of the body and the treatment and prevention of injury, pain and physical disorders. Physio Collective RMT’s are dedicated to creating a confident and informed space for healing. It is widely understood that massage therapy decreases stress and helps control pain.

Perhaps less known is the effectiveness of massage therapy in treating deeper structures of the body such as ligaments, bones and joints, fascia, blood vessels, organs and other soft tissues of the body.

Registered Massage Therapy can provide relief for common conditions such as: migraine headaches, whiplash, pregnancy, low back pain, stress release, tendonitis/arthritis, cancer, osteoporosis, fibromyalgia, sports injuries, soft tissue and joint dysfunction.

Knee Rehabilitation Classes (Brentwood)

This class will be designed as a general strength and conditioning class for pre-op, post-op, and non-operative ACL rehab clients. The plan is to incorporate foundational strength exercises such as squats, lunges/split squats, deadlifts, hamstring curls, etc. to help the client regain knee function.

The class is not limited to only ACL clients.  Any client that wants to do a lower body strength class can take it. However, the exercises will be geared towards strengthening the knees and will focus on correcting muscle imbalances and compensatory patterns that tend to come after an ACL injury (i.e. hip strategies vs knee strategies, gait, etc).

It will be set up with stations comprised of different exercises. There will also be an education component to the class (i.e. when the graft is susceptible to retear, common compensatory patterns, things to avoid, mindset, etc)

Chiropractic

Chiropractic Medicine (Station Square)

Chiropractic care is a patient-centred, non-invasive, hands-on, regulated health care profession focused on your spine, muscles,  joints and nervous system.

Chiropractors use the best available evidence and clinical expertise to diagnose issues that affect your body’s movement. They treat them without medication or surgery and prevent them from returning. Chiropractic care can also promote health and improve your quality of life, as well as alleviate pain.

We want every client to feel that we are invested in their recovery as much as they are.

The clinic offers detailed attention to client care from customer service, to assessment, to treatment and follow-up. The culture of care within the clinic is centered around compassionate client care, honest communication, education and a collaborative approach.

2) 1 hour, 1-on-1 personal training sessions: This 1 hour session is best for people who want to challenge themselves and for those who are already familiar with exercise but need a little extra push.  The kinesiologist will create a plan to help you reach your goals with an emphasis on KICKING BUTT!  Like we said, you can't grow without an extra challenge.

3)  Personal training 45, 10-pack:

4) 45 minute, 2-on-1 personal training: It's always more fun working out with a friend or partner!  The kinesiologist will take into account both person's needs and goals and will create a workout to accommodate both of you.  Not to mention, it's cheaper for both of you if you bring a workout partner!

5) 1 hour, 2-on-1 personal training: This is a 1-hour session where the kinesiologist works with you and your friend/partner to achieve your goals and SLAY (also at a discounted rate)!

BodyWork

Body workers perform similar techniques as Registered Massage Therapists. They incorporate a variety of manual techniques to help in treating injury, pain and physical disorders.  An assessment is utilized to understand the underlying condition and as a baseline to create a treatment plan. Comparable to Registered Massage Therapists, Bodyworkers aid in providing relief for common conditions such as: migraine headaches, low back pain, stress release, soft tissue and joint dysfunction.

During your first session, you and your therapist will discuss your individual needs and goals to create a treatment plan specific to you.
